New York ~ Day 3

My final day in New York, was very bitter sweet. I was having so much fun, I really didn't want to leave.

I went up to The Empire State Building. An amazing view it was!!!!!!!!

We then took a carriage ride through Central Park. I loved it!!!!!!!! I saw where they filmed to movie Enchanted.

I saw The Dakota (the building where John Lennon lived and where he was shot).

I then went to see, "In The Heights". The play is by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He conceived the idea during his sophomore year at Wesleyan University. The play won 2008 Tony award for Best Original Score.

We went to dinner at Tavern On The Green. The drinks were amazing. The food wasn't all that and a bag of chips. I was really kind of disappointed.

Our last play was Chicago. I wasn't all that thrilled with this play. I much preferred the movie if I must say so myself.

Our final excursion was Times Square. I stood in the middle of Times Square and it was breathtaking.

I gotta say, this trip was amazing.

Day Two In New York

Day two was extremely busy. We were supposed to go on a helicopter tour of the city, but it didn't happen ~ which was fine with me.

We then went to Ground Zero. I have to say that I literally had goosebumps the closer we got. I could not believe that it is STILL one big whole. Where is the memorial??????

Our first play of the day was Grease. It was amazing. For all of you American Idol fans out there ~ Ace Young plays the part of Kenickie. He was very good.

Dinner was at Zanzibar. It is a very stylish, trendy restaurant with a tapas type menu. I really liked it.

Hairspray was our evening play. OMG, I totally loved it. George Wendt, formerly of Cheers plays the part of the mother. He was amazing.

After a whirl wind week in NY, I am finally home, to stay for the rest of the year.

Before I go on and on about NY, I just wanted to say Thank You to all of the ladies who attended the Memorial Service for HighandTight. Thank you also for the more then delicious food and desserts.

I am very lucky to be part of a community with so many amazing women in it.

Now, for New York ~

It was, in a word, spectacular.

I arrived in New York and saw my first play, Boeing, Boeing. The play was a comedy and absolutely hysterical.

Boeing Boeing starred Christine Baranski and Paige Davis. This is Mark Rylance. He is a Shakesperian Actor but is so funny in Boeing, Boeing.

Dinner was at Uncle Jack's Steakhouse. OMG, talk about good....it was flipping amazing. We had an amazing bottle of wine, we both had filet Mignon and I had a baked potato and asparagus.

After the theater, we went out for drinks and dessert. I had creme brulee and an ice wine.

We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Times Square.

It was absolutely beautiful.

I'll post all about day 2 tomorrow.

The Word of the day is Karma

October 3, 1995 ~ millions of television viewers were glued to their screen to watch the most publicized trial in American history ~ the trial of OJ Simpson.

The words "NOT GUILTY" had a profound affect on everyone.

Now, 13 years later, I think Karma has finally caught up with OJ Simpson as the word "GUILTY" resounded in a Las Vegas courtroom.

OJ Simpson had it all.

While at University of Southern California he was an outstanding running back and led the nation in rushing yards.

He earned the Heisman trophy and was the number 1 draft pick for the NFL. He played for the Buffalo Bills and later with the 49ers where he played in 6 Pro Bowls and was number 14 on the NFL's all-time rushing list.

America fell in love with teh spokesperson for Hertz and the actor who was in Towering Inferno, Naked Gun and Roots.

But OJ had a dark side, he physically abused his wife Nicole, he stalked Nicole who was forced to get a restraining order against OJ.

Then on June 12, 1994, Nicole and Ronald Goldman were found murdered.

Slow speed Bronco chases, bloody gloves, eyewitness testimony, motive, lack of alibi, DNA evidence and prior bad acts all seemed to say that Simpson was the murderer, but a dream team of lawyers, prosecution blunders and police misconduct left the jury members perplexed and the words "NOT GUILTY", rang in the ears of all America.

Although two years later, the civil trial would have a different outcome, and Simpson would be liable for the wrongful death of Ron and Nicole, OJ was protected from paying most of the $33 Million judgment because his 2,000,000 per years pension from the NFL was protected.

OJ was dealt a "Get Out Of Jail Free Card", you would think that he would have just shut up and QUIETLY led his life, but NO.

Simpson moved to Dade County Florida and resumed his life making money on autographs, playing golf and living his life with his on-again/off-again girlfriend. The two have over 187 arrests and police reports filed against them for, among other things, domestic abuse, road rage, and threatening Simpson's handyman.

Direct TV won a lawsuit against OJ who was pirating satellite signals. The $25,000 Judgment against OJ was never paid.

Then, of course you have OJ's book and television deal. Simpson agreed to explain how he would have committed the murder of Ron and Nicole IF he had been the killer. The Book, "If I Did It", had to be OJ's most brazen act of stupidity. Public outcry was so great that the plug was pulled on the show and the father of Ron Goldman was awarded the publicity rights to the book and retitled it, "I Did It: Confessions of the Killer."

Now, 13 years TO THE DATE, of the NOT GUILTY verdict, the words GUILTY finally reached OJ's ears.

Karma ~ it may not happen today, it may not happen tomorrow. You may have to wait 13 YEARS for justice to be done ~ but it DOES HAPPEN
